Hey all, first time poster and brand new user of Mudlet.
I have searched (possibly inefficiently) for an explanation on how to:
Connect to my MUD through an external vpn (BTGuard, but I'm flexible and will gladly take suggestions).
From what I've been able to gather Mudlet does not currently support such a function and the closest thing to a solution seems to be Mudbot so far.
The problem however, is that I know didley about programming and all I really need is a simple script/code-snippet) that "makes" Mudbot connect to my vpn(, or other proxy) before continuing on to connect to my mud.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time,
Red
PS. I run Mudlet 2.0 on Ubuntu 12.04
Connecting to a MUD through a VPN
Re: Connecting to a MUD through a VPN
I just run Ubuntu in VirtualBox, and connect to my VPN via Ubuntu, and run Mudlet in Ubuntu.
Re: Connecting to a MUD through a VPN
Thank you for the response, that is pretty much exactly what I ended up doing as well!
Only difference is that I run Xubuntu to save precious hardware-resources (my pc is crap).
The only thing I would note however is that it would not appear to be neither the easiest, nor the most elegant solution, so other suggestions are still welcome.
Cheers,
Red

Re: Connecting to a MUD through a VPN
SOCKS5 support should be available pretty soon.
