How do I get the latest version and compile it on Ubuntu?

Post by Trendor »

As the topic says. I'm messing around with Ubuntu, installed via wubi installer. Just don't understand how to compile or where to download the source code for the latest version. The links I find give me a snapshot not allowed error.

I actually had issues with it too (and I'm still starting out on ubuntu as well!) ... Let me see if I remember how I did it to make it work right...

go here: https://launchpad.net/~mudlet-makers/+archive/ppa

and an easy way to open up terminal (basically command prompt if you know windows) is ctrl-alt-T

Yeah I'd recommend the PPA, it's the easiest

Never mind. I figured out the terminal. After doing all of that, how do I update in the future?

I'm trying to install Mudlet again on my new computer. I forgot how I did it before. This time I followed the instructions for Ubuntu on the download page. Added the line "ppa:mudlet-makers/ppa" to my software list However, when I attempt to install it I get the message: "Failed to download package files. Check your Internet connection." Since there is nothing wrong with my connection, I'm obviously doing something wrong.

When I go to git, the snapshot is not available or I'm not able to find it.

What is it that I should be doing differently?
