I've been trying to find/figure out a solution to the problem with these three letters considering Mudlet. I tried asking on IRC, but I don't think my help request came out quite right.
What I wish, and this being of utmost importance, is to utilize Ä Ö and Å while using Mudlet. This really is the only thing keeping me from using the client at the moment and sticking with Zmud, as a frequent user of these letters it's impossible for me not to require them from a client.
Receiving the letters from the game works fine, just sending them out is the problem. And if this problem is with my operating system (Windows 7) rather than the client itself, maybe you could help me with enabling said letters in it.
Scandic letters (ÄÖÅ)
Re: Scandic letters (ÄÖÅ)
As a workaround to this check out the following link
http://sydaby.eget.net/emig/emig/scands.htm
I know its a long way around but ive made it work for the french characters also.

Re: Scandic letters (ÄÖÅ)
Afraid that's a bit too slow for the chat purposes it would be more or less used, hard to do alt+xy multiple times per word or sentence

Re: Scandic letters (ÄÖÅ)
First off a big thanks to the user Olostan for doing some testing with me and bearing with my questions. Installing an early beta version of mudlet (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mudlet/ ... ta-10pre8/) solves it, the characters ÅÄÖ displays just fine.
If I understand Olostan correctly mudlet today encodes all text sent and received to the charset Latin1 instead of leaving it untouched. Earlier version didnt do this encoding. I dont know the reason for doing this or if it can be solved. But if it's easy, is it possible to add a way to turn this encoding off or encode to a charset that recognizes ÅÄÖ?
I'm not a poweruser with advanced triggers and scripts, so I'm sticking to the beta for now. And hopefully there will be a way around this.
