Feature Request: Alpha Channels

specifically for the background colors, also, maybe an option for keeping the window on top of other windows?

running os x 10.6 and i just want to replicate terminal pro theme as best as possible.

Seems like having to calculate alpha channels on the fly would introduce a slowdown.

Apologies if I wasn't specific enough. This is what I was referring to though:

Having the background color with an alpha channel (and possibly also being able to stay on top of windows) is quite handy for mudding so it doesn't rob you of all your screen real estate.

I don't know. Coming from Linux, where this kind of functionality is built-in and can be used for any type of window:

I'm not really convinced it's the programs job to have window management functions.

I believe Heiko has said before that it's not available for performance reasons.

I think that was for miniconsoles to have transparency, although the same could applied here I guess.
