Post by indy2kro » Fri Apr 30, 2010 5:07 am

Hello,

Here is the error I get when I start Mudlet on Windows 7 with default installation:

Code: Select all

[INFO] no old version of the manual found
[INFO] local manual: C:/Users/Indiana Jones/.config/mudlet
[ERROR] failed to set file permissions for the old version of LuaGlobal.lua

[INFO] found Lua module rex_pcre
[INFO] found Lua module luasql.sqlite3
[INFO] LuaGlobal.lua loaded successfully.
[INFO] db.lua loaded successfully.
[INFO] looking up the IP address of server:aetolia.com:23 ...
[INFO] The IP address of aetolia.com has been found. It is: 69.65.40.98
[INFO] trying to connect to 69.65.40.98:23 ...
[INFO] A connection has been established successfully.
This only happens with the default installation.

If you run it as an administrator, or if you change the owner for those files from Administrator (which is the default) to your user works fine.

It would be nice to make the path where files are stored configurable (maybe not in Settings panel, but at least a config.ini file) since the default path is not the most friendly on Windows 7 (C:/Users/[USER]/.config/mudlet), or at least set the owner correctly on install.

Who should be the proper owner of the files?
