Grammar Suggestion for 'Connect'

This is silly, I am aware...

When you click 'Connect' it says at the top, "Select a profile to connect with"

One isn't supposed to end sentences with prepositions, so it could instead read, "Select a profile with which to connect"

Top priority, obviously.

I confirm that it is something I was taught in school and yet regularly ignore. More info on this "rule" can be seen here http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2011 ... positions/
In general, if it sounds natural when spoken, it is acceptable, even if grammarians may pick it apart. In this case, since both sound okay, you could always opt for the suggested version.

The suggestion is the 'proper' way to do this.

Alrighty, I'm in favour of updating it then.

The suggestion is what most people would consider proper.

The way it is now is not technically incorrect, but since people will assume it is and defend that to the death, it might be better to change it than not.

I would just like to point out that nitpicking the particulars of grammatical structure in a sentence that is lacking punctuation seems like a bit of an oversight, at least.

The suggested change seems really unnatural. Nobody speaks like that, except foreigners who have only studied English in a strictly academic environment. I would go for something simpler, such as..

"Select a profile to play." or "Select a profile to be connected." or "Select a profile in order to connect." or "Select a profile to connect."

Tossing in my native English opinion. The suggestion is far too formal, and how it is currently sounds natural to me.

Necro-bumping this to point out that you don't just use this to connect - if you change any Profile and click 'cancel' not to connect it'll still retain the changes you make, IIRC...!
