Is this a Mudlet-specific issue, or does it happen with other clients?

I don't know, This is the only one that I didn't need admin permission to install.
But it connects just fine, Says it has no errors.

But when I get to that point I can't enter a command.

You get disconnected even before the system is loaded.
Have you tried the reconnect button?
Update to Mudlet-1.2.0-pre4 please.

If you're using the GMCP version on certain games this will happen.

Check your windows firewall settings and grant internet access to Mudlet.
What windows version are you using?

@tsuujin
The GMCP patch has just been merged and will be made available in the next preview. There's still some necessary backend changes that need to be made before it works correctly (-> gmcp redirections).
