Re: Mudlet Map Explorer

Well it ought to be possible to add a getter and setter for that table but TBH it is just going to confuse the hell out of people unless we expand Mudlet to offer an "environment" type setting - and show how (or even make) it differ from just setting a colour for a room...

Re: Mudlet Map Explorer

That is because when an XML map is imported it sets up a mapping via the user inaccessable (QMap<int, int> TMap::envColors ) of IRE map colour code to Mudlet colour code. Further more, at least ONE of the IRE Muds (either Aetiolia or Achaea - I think the former though) has Environment data that maps...

Re: Mapping Saving and Merging data best practices

For the special exits being handled as user data it is because the XML importer/exporter was written to handle IRE's map files that does not include special exit data in the XML and it was never put into the partial reader that Mudlet has. In the medium term I do plan to get around to producing a fu...

List of MUDs that can be connected to securely (TLS)

I think it would be useful to record here the connection details for MUDs where the "Secure" option (to use SSL/TLS) to connect over an encrypted link to the Server as opposed to the plain-text standard Telnet one, can be used. I would like to collate them in this first post so any replies...

Re: Keyboard shortcut to close or switch away from Script Editor window

I know it might sound silly but doesn't cmd+e from the editor also take you back to the main screen. I thought I saw that recently when I was looking at all the short-cuts in various places...

Re: Bug With permAlias and permRegexTrigger Functions

demonic is probably going to start jumping up and down when he sees this!  expandAlias(...) has got to be the most abused function that we provide - except that this might actually be one of those cases where it enables something that cannot easily be done on the command line otherwise....

Re: Build Mudlet on RK3399 SBC

FTR although Qt 5.9 is a Long Term Support (LTS) version 5.9.9 is End of Support at the end of this month (2020-05-31). We are using feature that are just not available prior to 5.11 I am afraid. Qt 5.12 (currently 5.12.8) is the next long-term support version and that will be supported by Qt until ...

Re: Script auto exection is really a trouble design

Also the auto-execution is also necessary IIRC to ensure that the Lua code is good or buggy (and if the latter gets disabled and marked with a bug icon) so it cannot be entirely removed. I suspect some difficulties may crop up for what one might call "direct" Lua code/scripts which do get ...

Re: Cursor movement commands not supported

The fact that it was doing ASCII art immediately suggested the CP437 ( often identified as the OEM font as it was often the one that is embedded in the EGA/VGA graphics adapter card's ROM by card manufacturers - that is what is used during the PC preboot ("accessing the BIOS CMOS setup/settings...

Re: How to prevent input command echo with alias?

I take it a "sysDataSendRequest" event handler isn't an option here? After all that does intercept user / script generated output does it not? Otherwise this sounds that you'd want to look at (void) Host::sendData(QString cmd, bool wantPrint, bool dontExpandAliases) ... .... sorry, posted ...
