I think that the looks of your map can be greatly improved by setting the default x/y room coordinate delta to 1 as this is what the mapper is optimized for. Larger default numbers have 2 negative impacts: a) bad scaling b) more wasted map space.

If I were you I'd try one of the proven main stream drivers that are most common among the big games e.g. the stable LD Mud driver http://www.ldmud.eu/ formerly known as LP Mud or Amylaar driver (around since 1989 I think and still being maintained and further developed.)
