Re: A function to check physical capability.

As for the check, what you have looks fine. Although, because I'm always a fan of saving a few keystrokes, you can change how you return the function a bit by excluding the else statement. Return automatically exits out of the function, so you can use the if statement to return true if everything's ...

Re: A function to check physical capability.

well, a bit unrelated, but I highly suggest coming up with a manager for your afflictions, rather than individual variables. [syntax=lua] -- General management of afflictions. if not affs then affs = { current = {}, } end -- add, drop, and check afflictions function affs:add(a,diag) a = a:lower() --...

Re: Passing regex arguments

Doesn't seem to work in a tempRegexTrigger

hlTarget = tempRegexTrigger("(?i)\\b"..target.."\\b",...)

still matches the pattern, but only exactly as it stored, not case insensitive.

Passing regex arguments

I was wondering if there was any way to pass a regex argument to mudlet (such as making a regex case insensitive).

Re: IRE AB Plus

Well, as far as the next rank (which does look broken), I'm actually using the percentage displayed in MKO to figure out how many lessons in I am already ( (percent displayed /100) * lessons in rank ), then reducing that amount from the total number of lessons in that skill rank. Without that displa...

IRE AB Plus

I got the idea from a post on the Midkemia Online forums, and rewrote it entirely for Mudlet. I tried to make it simple and had the whole thing run from a single trigger, populating data tables the first time through. Let me know how it can be improved! Note: I'm toying with the idea of keeping a ru...

Re: Table Functions - Lua

Lua tables are great for certain things, and cumbersome for others. My gripe with them is that they don't save the order they're entered in, unless you explicitly tell it to via numbered index. lua-users wiki was kind enough to provide a workaround using metatables that creates a table which functio...

Re: Fancy gauges

Good idea to show ideas for alternate colors! Here's my XP bar, which shows on the bottom of the screen. The filled in part is also flat on the right edge, because it just looks better to me that way. My format is slightly different, hope this doesn't confuse the issue. note: you'll have to change v...

Re: Word/Name Highlighting triggers

Not to be insulting to any of our dev team, because they're doing great things with mudlet, but I feel your pain here. I asked a while back how I would write a temp trigger to highlight each instance of a name on a line, not just the first, and was redirected to a script that was -way- over complica...
