Re: Noob Questions.

For the record the matches entity is a global Lua table - i.e. visible in all parts of the Lua sub-system for example: Triggers, Timers, KeyBindings, etc. - (and the profile's command line) which gets populated automagically by some of the C++ application code with data from the results of the use o...

Re: Timers - Loading at Session Startup

How are you creating those timers - using the GUI (Editor) timers that I create both at a top level and inside a group are both being run on profile loading without any further interaction. However I am aware of an issue that I still have to fix in that if you have the editor open and you select a t...

Re: Recover entire mudlet settings, map and config from disk

I have heard that non-administrator users on Windows 10 are not permitted to create symbolic-links to directories anymore - is that really the case and does that mean that Mudlet cannot create the link from C:\Users\username\.config\mudlet to C:\Users\username\mudlet-data for those users?

Re: Send a Text Line to All Windows - With an Alias

I think there is an alias defined and included by default in recent Mudlet versions that sends it's arguments to all profiles that are open - I vaguely recall something about it using an alias of just a " : "... ... it probably uses the raiseGlobalEvent(...) function to send its arguments to all pro...

Re: Adding SSL to Mudlet 2.1 downloadFile

You will have some issues with this - and to be perfectly honest you are running some risks in connecting a Windoze XP machine to the 'Net - I hope you have a reasonable AntiVirus program installed...! Have you considered installing a lighter weight Linux install into some space freed up from the en...

Re: 32-bit version for ubuntu?

You should be able to build the current Mudlet from source code in Ubuntu using a 32-bit machine however you will have to use the system provided Qt development ( qmake qt project file processor/ Qt Creator IDE) tools as Qt themselves no longer compile and publish a 32bit x86 SDK to provide these......

Re: Map with the geyser template

The map needs to know the room number where the player is located (a valid position ) if you have a map system installed for the MUD you may need to issue a command, such as look so that the details of your current location is sent from the Server - if the MUD is using GMCP then the location details...

Re: Connection Hang

That is an unusual Port Number choice as 6666-6669 are the official Port numbers used by Internet Relay Chat (IRC) servers; see. e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_T ... rt_numbers ...

Re: Multi-Play Communications

You will want to look at the event system and specifically the raiseGlobalEvent(...) function that is specifically designed to send the event (the first argument, a string) and all the other arguments {and at the end the name of the profile that raised the event!} through the event system to all the...
