Re: Mudlet & screenreaders

I'd say the possibility that NVDA devs accept this request is very unlikely. It was stated a bunch of times that NVDA controller API is not mean to be a full-fledged speech interface and never will be so. Application developers should utilize accessibility interfaces (such as IAccessible2 or UIAuto...

Re: Mudlet & screenreaders

I'd say that a word or line based callback would be all we need. Excellent! Two more questions and then I'll be off requesting these callbacks: 1. Isn't it possible to pass the text line by line to NVDA and then query NVDA to see if it is done speaking? That way you can pass text in every unit you ...

Re: Mudlet & screenreaders

Hi, Thanks a lot for the explanation. It works perfectly as described. First of all, I'm sorry for asking the question again (I have read the numerous times you've responded to the "why SAPI and not NVDA?" debate) but the most important thing for me was the not providing a cursor in the bu...

Re: Mudlet & screenreaders

Hi, I'm a long-time MUDder and interested to help with testing/ideas as well. I downloaded the Mudlet referred to in this forum (Mudlet-ScreenReader-2.1.1). However, I didn't find any key reference/manual for using it with a screen reader, and honestly, since this is pre-alpha, I didn't expect to fi...

Re: Mudlet & screenreaders

Hi, Thanks for wanting to make Mudlet accessible for the blind. I have tried the system, and have had the same problems as tspivey. I am, also, using the NVDA screen reader (http://www.nvaccess.org/) Thanks again! [Moderator Edit {2016-07-25}: updated link - old one was http://www.nvda-project.org b...
