Not sure if Mudlet version 1.1.1 has this option, but you should be able to go into 'Settings' and check the box labeled "Force auto save on exit".
Again, I'm using mudlet 2.0-rc6 so I'm not sure if 1.1.1 has this option.

When you quit after changing the settings, did you save the profile? Yes, often multiple times. It seems to be a recurring issue.
