Re: Qt on Android

Right. In fact, Ubuntu goes on the Nexus 7 very easily, I believe. It is still ARM architecture though, so there is a limited software selection.

Or did you mean a x86 tablet?

Re: Whats Your Gui Look like?

Well rather resizing it, not re-rendering. The map is rendered every time the picture changes, and that's very quick as you notice :) I think re-sizing the widget at the moment does some unnecessary operations such as reloading the map data and rebuilding it, but I am not certain about it. Right. U...

In addition to the arm issues...

Not possible unless the ios device is jailbroken. Apple restricts any app that allows scripts to be run.

Re: ubuntu for gold

It doesn't look like Asus is in a hurry to get their things certified. Other companies have a more respectable presence. Also an interesting link. I knew Dell had done a lot, but had no idea Lenovo were at all involved. I suspect Asus was only interested at all because, particularly in the beginnin...

Re: ubuntu for gold

Thanks for being willing to try and help, Phasma, but I really can't be bothered. All things going well, about 6 weeks from now I will sell this thing on ebay and use my prettier half's 12" Asus netbook until next year when I'll be looking at buying something else for myself. I'd put more effor...

Re: ubuntu for gold

Reboot and log in on the recovery console. Remove the offending package and reboot. What's the offending package? It's the most difficult bug I've ever tried to track a solution for. Intermittent, reappearing every so often for a few years now apparently, but a bit different each time. :? I spent m...

Re: ubuntu for gold

Thanks for all those replies, they made Ubuntu great - until this weekend. The "hangs on checking battery state" bug reared its ugly head after an update, rendering Ubuntu unusable - can't log in at all. Luckily I'd been backing stuff up properly so all I lost was a couple of hours of scri...
